You must allow 15 days to obtain information from the date of issue of the citation before contacting the Circuit
Court.
Have citation or case number ready to access information
Your court date can not be changed in advance. Contact the Circuit Clerk's office 5 days after the court date and
inquires as to how to proceed.
You cannot post bond for your drivers license until a case number is assigned.
The court date appears on the bottom of the citation. If no court date appears on your citation, contact the
Police Department in the municipality where you received the ticket within 48 hours.
If you pay by mail and plead guilty, your drivers license will be returned within 30 days of receipt of the payment
for the citation.
If you plead not guilty, you may request a bench/jury trial - notification will be issued through the mail by the
Circuit Clerk. (See back of citation for information).
If you plead guilty, you may pay by mail and request driver
safety school. (See back of citation for information).
UNINSURED MOTORIST
If you received a citation for uninsured motorist
you may avoid going to court. You may present your insurance card, vehicle registration,
along with a signed affidavit at the second floor traffic window at the court
house and that ticket will be dismissed. The insurance must have been in effect when the
